SEDA College partners with major sporting brands and organisations that facilitate real life industry experiences and student opportunities. The Program integrates VCE VM and Vocational Education and Training (VET) where students are immersed in industry through inductions, community events and work placements. These experiences in combination, enables our students to acquire the skills to support future educational and employment pathways

SEDA College High Performance Programs combine the completion of Senior Secondary qualifications with high performance sports training. Students develop elite training habits through individualised strength and conditioning programs and specialised training sessions. The HPP is designed to complement a students involvement in their elite sporting pathways whilst supporting their athletic development.

The Building and Trade Program is specifically designed for students who want to develop the skills and knowledge required to get an apprenticeship in the Building and Construction industry. The program integrates VCE VM and VET whilst immersing students in industry. This enables students to develop key work skills, both theoretical and practical, that are essential for gaining an apprenticeship in the Building and Construction industry.

Where are our Graduates now? Take a look
Classes are located at community hubs and sport and recreation facilities. These venues are fully equipped with all the infrastructure required for a classroom setting, allowing students to complete theory-based learning as well as practical activities. Students travel to the classroom and other activities via public transport. SEDA College aims to develop students’ independence, confidence and time management skills and independent travel is part of this self-development.
SEDA College classes are structured to be delivered in an applied learning setting. Students complete their Senior Secondary Victorian Certificate of Applied Learning, alongside VET qualifications in the areas of Sport and Recreation, via a hands-on curriculum. Students’ curriculum includes activities based in the classroom, the workplace and the community.
SEDA College’s curriculum has a large focus on student learning and development in an applied setting. Students are involved in a number of components, such as coaching, fitness, first aid, work placement, wellbeing, event management, community projects and outdoor activities, in a hands-on environment.
Yes, students can still be involved in sport and sporting teams outside of SEDA College.
Year 12 students undertaking the Sports Development Program complete an Australian School-Based Traineeship with the College and our partner Registered Training Organisation (RTO) SEDA Group. A traineeship combines paid employment to a student as a trainee whilst completing their vocational educational training certificate. The students ‘Community Work Day’ is scheduled into the timetable and is generally performed in a Primary School setting whereby students facilitate training and sporting clinics.
Students are responsible for sourcing their own work placement. In Term 1 through the MyPLAN Area of Study students are supported in identifying suitable SWL opportunities. SWL provides students with a hands-on learning experience one day a week starting from Term 2. Students gain an in-depth understanding of the duties they might be expected to perform in the workplace and will acquire the skills that prospective employers need and want in their employees.
SEDA College students who successfully complete the Victorian Certificate of Education – Vocational Major (VCE VM) graduate with a senior secondary qualification recognised nationally as the successful completion of senior secondary education. It does not however, provide an ATAR score.
SEDA College graduates can continue further education by undertaking a course at a variety of institutions. They also have the opportunity to articulate to University upon completion of a Diploma level course. SEDA College graduates who choose to complete the Diploma of Sport Development & Business with SEDA Group can gain direct entry into a range of universities. (subject to meeting eligibility requirements)

Students that want to apply for the Sport Development Program can be of any skill level for their chosen sport. However, our High Performance Programs are dependent on skill. Students wanting to attend must be playing at the required level and may be required to attend trials prior to admission to the College. Please click here for the eligibility requirements.
Class numbers are limited so we do recommend students apply early. It is encouraged that students allocate multiple class preferences at their interview to avoid missing out. You can find out more about our application process here.

No, SEDA College is a registered Independent Co-educational Senior Secondary School, therefore you cannot remain at your current school.
Both Year 11 and 12 are delivered on a full-time basis.
Unfortunately, SEDA College does not have any boarding or accommodation facilities. While some students at SEDA College have relocated to attend, this has been facilitated on an individual basis through family, friends and other organisations.
The school year is divided across 4 terms, commencing in the first week of February and ending in mid November.
